A Tru-Scan™ inspection identified critical damage to titanium trays in a process column several months before a planned turnaround, giving a major chemical facility in Spain time to plan the required repairs and procure replacement components.
The non-intrusive survey was carried out while the column remained online, identifying flooding, entrainment and damaged trays that would require inspection and replacement. With specialised titanium trays requiring long manufacturing lead times, early visibility of the damage enabled the customer to incorporate the necessary work into the turnaround plan.
